Two death in Two Days..

SINGAPORE: Singapore's Ministry of Defence has declared a three-day time-out (12-14 June) on all physical and endurance training activities in the army, navy and air force.

This follows the deaths of two servicemen within two days.

20-year-old Officer Cadet (OCT) Clifton Lam Jia Hao, a pilot trainee with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), died on Wednesday, one-and-a-half hours after he collapsed while he was undergoing jungle orientation training in Brunei.

A day earlier, 20-year-old army recruit Andrew Cheah Wei Siong died after he fainted while taking part in a two-kilometre walk training activity on Pulau Tekong.

Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean said the time-out will allow the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) to review and re-focus on training activities to ensure that proper procedures are in place before training resumes.

"While the SAF needs to carry out realistic training, this will be done without compromise to safety," added Mr Teo.

I'm very sad that there are people who do such thing to our vocation... i totally disagreed in the very beginning when our working attire is sold in all SAF EMART. This is what happen. I hope the officer do something to stop our attire from selling in all EMARTs. PTI can only collect their attire from our HQ. Try going to yahoo auction and you will find people putting our attire on auction!!! can you beleive that!!! What the FISH!!! Slap them with my ****!!!

It really hurts to see people who don go through the PTI course and just easily buy it from the shelve and wear it everywhere they go... Ive gone through pain, putting 100% effort to pass out from the course. There u see people, with no nice physics, jogging and panting bringing such a bad image to our vocation...

To all PTIs, do uphold our image and professionalism. Don let these things deter our moral.

Thanks Maurice for setting up this blog. With this blog, i hope i can get all ex PTI to join and link to our Xswords Facebook which was done up by Jonathan. A very useful tools for interaction. Around 3 more weeks, i'm going to end my career as Regular in the Armed Forces. I hope to call up as a NSPTI, but no high hopes. CO has spoken to me and said that 2 criteria that he will be looking for if you want to be call back as NSPTI. No. 1 - Must be FIT and No. 2 - Must work in the FITNESS and SPORTS INDUSTRY. So, those PTI going to ORD, take note of these ya...



A lot to learn in my new career. I'm going to work as a Financial Adviser with Great Eastern and hope to get great support from my fellow collegues and frens...



Lastly, the PTI soccer team that is on going, to all the players that has been playing for the team, thanks for your support and see you guys this sat with our new kit...

Hey Team Xswords!

Maybe im just a sore loser but I think the scoreline was a poor reflection of the match but that is football for you. Take for example how poor a team real madrid is but they can still win the La Liga, same for Man Utd :{P

I felt that we played well, much better than our first match. there was more composure and i thoroughly enjoyed the match. i feel that there is still a lot of room for improvement and i believe we will see that improvement in due time. otherwise, we can all be happy for not earning any yellow or red cards :)

Many thanks to Khairon once again for organising the match and providing the really comfortable jerseys. Thanks to all for coming and making it an enjoyable match and helping me finish my potato chips, though i didn't need the help to be honest haha. And also our 2 lovely lady supporters. We should get a fan club up and running, no?

The match Result = 5-4. We lost. lol, but it was a good game, no fighting but a bit rough. The goals i think are quite lucky loh, haha, their keeper really "Power", but not a a bad game, certainly got improvement le. And freaking, the queenways pitch super small loh., i think it is like the length of 3-4 basketball courts or so ba. lol. but GG. Till next time.
